ZulaFly, a leading provider of patient workflow, staff safety, asset management, and environmental monitoring technologies,today announced that University of Utah Health has signed on for a multi-phase deployment. University of Utah Health is using the company’s applications across multiple facilities and use cases. ZulaFly Software was purchased for the health system’s Real Time Location System (RTLS) to provide data for patient through-put and staff workflow, patient elopement,asset tracking, and environmental monitoring.
University of Utah Health will be monitoring real-time temperature readings and humidity levels on 1200 devices with staff taking advantage of automated compliance monitoring, delayed alerts functionality and unlimited escalations to ensure that any device that does go out of range, is attended to.
The installation will initially cover 12 buildings and over 2 million square feet with the RTLS solution, with goals of a unified solution that provides real-time information not only for environmental monitoring, but also reducing the amount of money spent replacing equipment, hours spent checking supply closet counts, and to provide an efficient method for staff to quickly call for assistance.

University of Utah Health will tag approximately 14,000 pieces of equipment across the campus so staff can spend less time searching, and more time providing care. Also, using ZulaFly’s PARLevel application will allow University of Utah Health to know when supply closets need to be restocked, when dirty supply closets are full and aide in maximizing the equipment that is on hand. ZulaFly’s enterprise RTLS solution will be integrating multiple disparate systems so that staff can most effectively view and utilize information that is relevant, within in a single dashboard. For example, knowing when preventative maintenance is not only due on equipment, but where it is located, saves staff time when performing preventative maintenance checks. Utilizing the flexibility of the platform and dashboards allows University of Utah Health to collect relevant data from any system, thus making it actionable for alerting and accessible for real-time and historical reporting.
