In the world of healthcare technology, women are making profound strides, pushing boundaries, and breaking down barriers. Historically, the healthcare IT, and software industries have been male-dominated, but over the past few decades, women have increasingly emerged as key innovators, leaders, and advocates, driving transformative change in the intersection of healthcare and technology. These women are not only shaping the future of the healthcare system but also improving patient care, accessibility, and medical outcomes. ZulaFly, a leading healthcare visibility solutions software company, was founded by two female entrepreneurs looking to bring a fresh perspective to the competitive locations services industry.

Breaking Barriers: Overcoming Gender Challenges

While women have long been underrepresented in tech and healthcare leadership roles, today’s trailblazers are breaking through these barriers, opening doors for future female generations. The challenges faced by women in these fields are numerous—from unequal access to funding and mentorship to the gender bias that persists in technical fields. Despite this, many women have risen to the challenge, advocating for change, and paving the way for more inclusive environments.

The Journey:

Our background in software started over 25 years ago at Great Plains Software, through the Microsoft acquisition before moving into the Healthcare industry over 15 years ago. With software being in our blood, it was a natural progression to start our own software company designing and building all aspects of our solution from the ground up. Like every company, there have been peaks and valleys along the way, but it has been beyond rewarding with amazing things on the horizon for ZulaFly.

Collaborative Networks: Building the Future

The power of collaboration is another essential element driving change in the healthcare technology sector. Women in this field are not working in silos—they’re creating networks and forging partnerships that amplify their impact. Organizations like Women in Health IT (WHIT) and Women Who Lead in Healthcare have become pivotal spaces for women to share knowledge, gain mentorship, and collaborate on projects that will shape the healthcare systems of tomorrow.

In fact, the emphasis on collaboration is perhaps one of the most powerful ways that women are changing the landscape of healthcare technology. From Silicon Valley to the boardrooms of healthcare companies, women are forming alliances, creating global dialogues, and pushing for systemic changes that make healthcare more equitable, accessible, and efficient.

A Legacy of Empowerment

At ZulaFly, we have created an inclusive and collaborative environment for all to thrive and succeed. We are energized to help inspire the next generation female entrepreneurs and technology leaders to embark on new risks and opportunities. The professional freedom, financial success, and satisfaction that comes with all the hard work is totally worth it!
